The Peoples Choice award went to Ken Bridges for his painting “Hanging On.”
The theme of this year’s competition was “Sea and Shore.”

Jean’s fifth book entitled “Rhinogydd – Ancient Routes and Old Roads” has just been published and she will be giving a series of talks and book signing at a variety of places. The book has evolved from Jean’s project for her recent Masters in Fine Art at Aberystwyth University and is full of text on the history of the Rhinogydd written after months of intensive research and contains dozens of Jean’s photographs.
“I have been exploring the county of Meirionnydd for many years and find the varied landscape endlessly fascinating and one particular area, the Rhinogydd mountains and surrounding high moorland, is especially captivating and full of the remains of human habitation that date back centuries.”

One of our members, Jean Napier, has a new book being published on 15 November.
The Rhinogydd mountains are littered with the remains of human habitation that date back centuries. This little book gives you a taste of the drovers’ routes, old coaching roads, derelict gold mines and ancient tombs that still exist in this magnificent landscape.
Jean has explored this wild upland of Meirionnydd extensively over many years. Her passion for this unique land is evident in every photograph taken and word written.
